Undeclared War

The conflict in Ukraine starts with an anti-governmental demonstration on Independence square in Kiev. The population splits into two. The Ukrainian political elite has been turning Ukrainians and Russians against each other for quite a long time, while flirting with Europe and maintaining close relations with Russia at the same time. After the revolution, where a hundred people fall dead and President Viktor Yanukovych is overthrown, Russia annexes Crimea without a single gun shot. People of Eastern Ukraine do not believe their government and want an accession to Russia. During the conflict, according to official UN data, over 9 500 people find their death, but in reality the number is probably much higher. The author of these photos is from the Zaporozhye region is Southeast Ukraine and fears for the future of his country.
