During a freezing Serbian winter around 1500 migrants are trying to survive inside abandoned warehouses in decay, without windows, electricity, heating or running water, behind Belgrade’s central bus station. They are blocked in “Suburb Zero” – Limbo, awaiting new life in Europe. The air inside these buildings is heavy with the smoke, coming from improvised fires. The inhabitants’ coughs cut through the darkness. Europe has forgotten that refugees are freezing to death in the Limbo camp.
